Key Points

Uttar Pradesh is my home state so naturally I have a soft corner towards this state. This is 5th convocation I am participating in UP .

Aligarh Muslim University is one of the oldest University of national importance.

This university has played crucial role in our nation’s development and AMU is going to complete it’s 100 years in 2020.

Not only in India but the students of Aligarh Muslim University have made their mark all over the world.

During my visit to Ethiopia in 2017. I was delighted to learn that wife of Ethiopian prime minister was an alumni of AMU.

Bharat Ratna awardee Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, anti – apartheid activist Dr. Yusuf Mohammad Dadu and former president of India Dr. Zakir Hussain were students of this university.

Life of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is inspiration for every Indian because of his contribution to our society and nation.

Neary 37% of students of Aligarh Muslim University are female and this year females secured more medals than males of our country.

Forward looking women like Ismat Chughtai and Mumtaz Jahan added sheen to our society and AMU.

Khushboo Mirza , a former student of AMU played a vital role as scientist in ISRO Chandrayaan Mission.

Our nation can only grow with the progress of women of our country.

I appreciate the work of Aligarh Muslim University in Science and Technology. I got to know ‘Centre For Advanced Research in Electrical Transportation’ is started by AMU for development of new technologies.

Today is the age of Globalisation – of building a world that does not just accommodate but celebrate diversity. And that combines the best of modern technology with cultures and traditions of our society to build India of our dreams.
